Nahum Oliva, BS, LPTA, CPT
Nahum’s career began in the Nursing program at Housatonic Community College before he transferred to earn an Associate’s degree in Science and a Physical Therapist Assistant degree. He was honored with the Smith Memorial Academy Award, recognizing his excellence in both academic and clinical education. In 2013, Nahum graduated from Sacred Heart University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science and a minor in Geriatric Health and Wellness.
With 15 years of experience in acute, sub-acute, inpatient, and outpatient physical therapy, Nahum is highly skilled in pre- and post-surgical rehabilitation, sports injuries, musculoskeletal injuries, and various orthopedic conditions. He is particularly passionate about helping the elderly address functional mobility impairments and balance issues.
To broaden his approach, Nahum has completed numerous courses, including Orthopedic Massage for Cervical Pain, Manual Therapy for Low Back Pain, Advances in Hand Therapy, Kinesiology Taping, Strength Training for Seniors, Corrective Exercise for Chronic Pain, Thai Massage, and Neuromuscular Re-Activation techniques. He is also a certified personal trainer from the American Council on Exercise. He enjoys working at Core Medical Group, where he continually learns from the diverse diagnoses, his colleagues, and the varying demographics, cultures, and personalities of the patients.
Outside of work, Nahum enjoys his regular gym routines and spending time in nature through hiking and running. He loves traveling and exploring new seasonal activities. Nahum believes that regular exercise can help reduce stress, anxiety, and depression, advocating for a mind-body approach to wellness.
