Nahum Oliva is a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in our Physical Therapy facility.

Nahum has immersed himself in many aspects of the medical field over the last 15 years. His career started in Housatonic Community College’s Nursing program and transferred to an Associates in Science and a Physical Therapist Assistant degree. There he was conferred with the Smith Memorial Academy Award, recognized for excelling in both academic and clinical education. In 2013, Nahum graduated from Sacred Heart University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science and minored in Geriatric Health and Wellness. He has created and implement structured exercise programs for developmentally disabled students and young athletes. Nahum has also worked in acute and sub acute inpatient and outpatient physical therapy with elderly to address mobility, balance and sensory stimulation.

Nahum has taken many courses to broaden his approach: Orthopedic Massage for Cervical Pain, Sciatica Release, The Lower Back and Radicular Symptoms, Advances in Hand Therapy, Kinesiology Taping, Strength Training for Seniors, Thai Massage and Neuromuscular Re-Activation techniques. He plans to continue his education within the health and fitness field with a focus on functional training, weight management and post-rehabilitation exercises. When Nahum isn’t working, you can find him staying active in a fitness class such as Zumba, spinning, yoga. He also enjoys spending time in nature, rock climbing, running and exploring new seasonal activities.
